I went to Todd for voice lessons, but what I got out of it was so much more. Todd is not only an incredible voice teacher, he is amazingly intuitive and knows how to connect with people. He provided me with individualized lessons that not only focused on my voice and singing, but also my overall well being. Through singing he taught me confidence, self acceptance and so much more. Todd has had a profound impact on me and who I have become. I am so grateful I walked into his studio.

All people are born with ability to produce sounds with the voice, providing there has been no damage in the hearing or vocal apparatus. Since we are born with this ability, what is it that keeps us from singing? Usually it has to do with an internal dialogue of “good” and “bad” that was established early on in our lives either through our beliefs, or those told to us a child. My goal as a teacher is to help the singer discover their voice in its natural state so they can fully express themselves and communicate openly and authentically .

I do not believe in quick fixes or band-aids as the result is almost always short lived and can often cause more issues for the singer in the long run. I firmly believe a flexible, dynamic instrument that allows the singer to fully express themselves vocally. With good body alignment, proper foundation of breath coordination, and a free and flexible vocal apparatus, the singer’s voice is able to reveal itself. I use various modalities such as Body Mapping, Alexander Technique, and other holistic approaches with the singer depending on what they are requiring and open to exploring.

My motto is: As you think, so you become. By fostering a space for the student to fully embrace the infinite possibilities of who they can be, their vocal ability can come to the forefront. With a student’s hard work and dedication along with their sincere desire to strive for excellence in themselves, I believe they can achieve almost anything.

I am a perpetual student myself and continue to study, attend regular workshops, and seminars to expand my knowledge of the voice and the technical differences between classic and contemporary styles of singing.
